The
NA and NP
range of adhesive fix control
joints are designed primarily for
incorporation into structures which
are being refurbished, where the major
movement cycles of settlement and
drying shrinkage have already occurred
and where a new slab, screed or bed
is not being laid. These joints provide
compression only stress relief from
the movement effects of thermal change
and imposed or transient loading (traffic)
in floors and walls.
Ti-Lock-NA and NP
joints are installed directly into
the adhesive bed used to affix the
tiles, and joint footplates are perforated
to allow a firm key into the fixing
agent. It is important that careful
consideration is given to the depth
of tile and proposed depth of adhesive
layer prior to specifying and ordering
this product. Simply, tile depth plus
adhesive depth must closely approximate
joint depth
otherwise the top of the joint will
not be flush with the top of tiles.
It
is also important that the joint should
be bedded on a layer of adhesive and
as such at least 1mm should be allowed
in respect of this, and therefore:

tile
depth + bed depth - 1mm = joint
depth.
Ti-Lock-NA and NP
joints are supplied in 2 metre lengths
and are available with Brass, Aluminium
or Stainless Steel side plates bonded
to a Neoprene or *Vamac
core. Standard core colours are Black,
Grey and Stone (beige). Special colours
and sizes can be manufactured to order.
*Vamac joints have been specifically
designed for projects where a high
degree of fire resistance and low
toxic smoke emission is required.
Such installations include underground
rail terminals, basement levels of
air terminals, hospitals and other
areas where personnel (or passengers)
work (or transit)
below ground level.
